The SMAPIAN alumni community sends its warmest congratulations to one of its own, Sr. Anis Sulaikha Samiun (Class of 2016) from IIUM Kuantan, for receiving the prestigious “Hadiah Sanjungan” in the Master’s Thesis Category at the Anugerah PERSAMA 2025!
This significant recognition was awarded by the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society (PERSAMA) — a society that champions mathematical excellence across the nation.
Sr. Anis was honoured for her outstanding Master’s thesis, titled: “Interaction of Solitons in Discrete Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation with Localized Impurities.”
Now, for those of us who haven’t touched a maths textbook since leaving Labu, the title is certainly a mouthful of advanced mathematical jargon! Simply put, her research has been recognised for its high quality, rigour, and valuable contribution to the field of mathematical sciences.
Her success was achieved under the expert supervision of IIUM’s Asst. Prof. Dr. Nor Amirah Mohd Busul Aklan.
We are incredibly proud of Sr. Anis’s remarkable achievement and celebrate this recognition of her hard work and academic dedication. Her success serves as a powerful inspiration to all current and future students!
