The inaugural IKMAL Charity Run (ICR) hit the ground running (literally!) on Sunday, 16th November 2025, tackling a 7km route along the scenic metropolitan KL Car-Free Morning path at Dataran DBKL, Kuala Lumpur.
Masterminded by the fantastic Class of 1993 organisers with the backing of IKMAL, this brilliant initiative raised funds to support student programmes and upgrade facilities at our alma mater in Labu.
Despite a torrential downpour right as the run began (classic Malaysian weather!), nearly 150 participants were full of cheer and high spirits. They were officially flagged off at 7:38 AM sharp by current SMAP Principal, Zulkefli Hamat (STPM 1992). Shout out to the Classes of 1997 to 1999, who showed up in force and bagged the title for the highest participation!
An awesome RM2,000 was successfully raised and presented to the Principal after the finish line.
The buzz is already real—plans for the second ICR are already underway! We hope to see many more alumni join us next time, especially the millennials (Class of 2000 and beyond), as some of our esteemed veterans might be slowing down a little!
