SMAPIANS.COM is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Lt Col Azahan Ab Razak, Class of 1992. We send our heartfelt condolences to his entire family.
Allahyarham was an esteemed IIUM (or UIA for the old school) alumnus, joining the Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences after his SPM in 1992. He was also a prominent member of the popular Islamic vocal group, Alarm Me, whose famous track, Bulan Islam, helped educate young children about the Islamic calendar.
Upon graduating in 1999, Azahan began a distinguished career in the Royal Intelligence Corps (Kor Risik Diraja) of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), serving until his final days. He will be remembered for his unwavering integrity and humility.
The funeral prayers (solat jenazah) were performed by family members, colleagues from ATM and close friends at Surau Al-Kauthar, Bandar Tasik Kesuma, at around 9:30 PM. The body was then taken to the Tasik Kesuma Muslim Cemetery, Beranang, for burial.
We pray that Allah SWT grants him eternal mercy and a high place among the righteous. May his family find strength and patience to navigate this sorrowful time.
